SHKP Guangzhou residential project named Lake Dragon European lifestyle in a natural setting

08/01/08

Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) is calling its new large-scale residential development in Guangzhou 'The Lake Dragon'. The project will have a European design and premium materials blending with the natural surroundings to offer an exclusive lifestyle and green living environment.

Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Executive Director Alfred So said: "The property will offer distinctive luxury residences on a prime site amid the green hills and lake. Its name in Chinese suggests that the development is like lustrous jade rivaling Dragon Lake nearby. The development will feature high-quality materials and blend with the natural surroundings for an exclusive European lifestyle."

The joint-venture will bring together SHKP's extensive experience in luxury residential development and the mainland partner's extensive knowledge of the local property market and strong business connections. The development is certain to stand out in Guangzhou.

It is in the scenic Dragon Lake resort area in Huadu, close to the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. The first phase will have 1.3 million square feet (120,000 square metres) of low-density two- and three-storey town houses ranging from 3,900 square feet (360 square metres) to 8,300 square feet (775 square metres) integrated with a golf course. Completion is scheduled for the second half of 2009.

The Lake Dragon is surrounded by 13.3 square kilometres of mountainous terrain and a 2.5-square-kilometre lake in a scenic unpolluted site. The development will integrate with the natural setting, offering a sweeping view of the beautiful lake and golf course from a modern European-style village for a tranquil living environment.

Accessibility is good for The Lake Dragon, being close to five expressways. Downtown Guangzhou is 40 minutes away and it will take only 20 minutes to get to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and 90 minutes to Shenzhen and Zhuhai. Other destinations in the Pearl River Delta will be accessible via the North Second Ring, Guangzhou-Shenzhen, Beijing-Zhuhai expressways and South China Route.
