Ma Wan Park has won a U Green Award from U Magazine for Your Ideal Green Living and was named the public’s Favorite Natural Site.  Candidates for the awards were nominated in a public poll and then shortlisted by the organizer. The winners were chosen by the public, so the award is proof of people’s support for the Park’s conservation efforts.  Ma Wan Park was developed by Sun Hung Kai Properties.  The company practices sustainable development and promotes environmental protection and green living.

Ma Wan Park encourages care for the environment and lets people get close to nature.  The Park combines nature, education and art to promote positive values like love of life, family and the Earth.  Its 5.6-hectare Nature Garden has over a thousand of native trees and is open to the public for free.  People can follow a nature trail to enjoy the beautiful scenery and take in a beautiful view of Ma Wan from the Hilltop Lookout.

Explore Ma Wan activities at the Park have included Solar Cooking Day where people could try solar cooking at a natural environment.  Nature Wedding also provides an eco-friendly setting for weddings and banquets with full planning, and the Park hosted Art Jam workshops with the Promotion of Young Artists Foundation for 200 people, who had the opportunity to draw on native wood.  There is also a Tree Blossom programme with eco-tours led by arborists to introduce different trees with a special smart phone application.

The U Green Award reinforces Ma Wan Park’s commitment to creative efforts that encourage protecting nature and offer a place where the whole family can learn conservation.
