60 SHKP developments in energy-efficiency campaign Sun Hung Kai Centre, IFC and apm taking part in lights out

02/06/08

Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) cares for the environment and advocates saving energy to reduce carbon emissions and slow climate change. The developer is taking part in two territory-wide energy saving campaigns organized by the Friends of the Earth this summer. A number of major projects will join the June 21 'lights out', and more than 60 SHKP developments will participate in Power Smart campaign to save energy. The developer hopes to raise community awareness.

SHKP follows green principles in all aspects of business from design and construction to property management, and it promotes environmental awareness to households and tenants in its developments. Attention will be drawn to saving energy when the exterior lights at the company’s Sun Hung Kai Centre head office, IFC, Central Plaza and apm are turned off on June 21. Over 60 SHKP developments including The Vineyard, Park Island, Nobel Hill and Park Central are adopting energy-saving measures.

SHKP Vice Chairman and Managing Director Thomas Kwok said: "We work hard to build ideal homes, and we believe in making the best use of resources. We are happy to work with different groups to raise environmental awareness in Hong Kong, and we will keep up our efforts to preserve the environment and promote sustainable development for the benefit of future generations."
