12/10/06

Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) is spending $100 million on landscaping in its new luxury house development The Vineyard, so that residents are surrounded by the romantic ambience of the woods and greenery. The developer is also contemplating the creation of a 100,000-square-foot vineyard landscape and offering to plant grapevines in residents' private gardens, to enhance the living environment. Residents of The Vineyard will also be able to choose one of five different themes conceived by noted landscape designers for their gardens.

$100 million for lush green environment

Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Sales Director Anita Chan said: "Private vineyards and wine-making chateaus have been the hallmarks of affluence and taste among the elite, and aspirations to this status are growing."

SHKP's innovative The Vineyard development addresses these desires with special attention to the estate landscaping and private gardens, which will surround residents with nature and a luxury lifestyle. SHKP is spending $100 million on the landscaping to give residents the best living environment.

The houses will be surrounded by ten million square feet of lush greenery, and there will be five flower-lined avenues with a distinctive country garden flair within the development: Pétrus, Margaux, Latour, Lafite and Mouton, each planted in different colours to create a country atmosphere.

SHKP has also created a number of private garden themes for residents to choose from. Ms Chan said: "We invited a number of renowned designers to create private gardens in five different colour themes to offer residents close contact with nature. Residents will be able to choose their favourite, and we will install and maintain the garden for them afterwards. This is one of the many special attractions of The Vineyard."

The developer will also invite vineyard experts to cultivate grapes from Europe. The Vineyard's serene charm and scented fields will make people forget the hustle and bustle of city life. Residents will be able to have their own private vineyards and grow grapes with help from specialists employed by the management company, so that they can live the lifestyle of a master vintager.
