Sun Hung Kai Properties is investing an additional $30 million to upgrade the lush green landscape in and around the 'little Bordeaux in Hong Kong' - The Vineyard - to enhance the luxury lifestyle setting. The development will have five different themes for the private gardens, created by a noted designer. Two years of free garden maintenance will allow residents to enjoy the greenery and carefree living. There will be special exhibitions over the next two weekends to highlight these features.

Extra $30 million brings total investment in landscaping to $130 million

Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Sales Director Anita Chan said, "To make The Vineyard stand out as a chateau residence in a spectacular vineyard setting, we have decided to spend an additional $30 million on landscaping. This takes the total investment in the green landscape even higher to $130 million. There will be over 500,000 plants and more than 100 species of flowers covering The Vineyard, so residents will be surrounded by nature all the time."

As well as creating a luxuriant landscape for the estate in general, the developer commissioned a landscape architect to design five theme gardens - Blueberry, Peach, Grape, Golden Leaves and Cherry - for residents to choose from. The gardens will cost from $800,000 to $3 million per house. The estate's management will also provide free garden maintenance for the first two years.

The Vineyard lifestyle - garden parade

There will be special 'garden parade' exhibitions on January 12 to 14 and 19 to 21 at New Town Plaza in Shatin and Sun Yuen Long Centre, with models of The Chateau and The Bordeaux, so people can get an idea of the deluxe lifestyle in a vineyard setting. The garden parade will showcase some of the possibilities that come with having a private garden, such as making jam from freshly-picked fruit and cooking with fresh spices. Visitors will also find out how to make French perfume.

Spirit of Luxury at The Vineyard

The Vineyard is in a low-density residential area. It will have 160 houses ranging from approximately 2,900 to 5,200 square feet, and Club Vineyard covering nearly 80,000 square feet. The clubhouse will offer Hong Kong's first curative grape therapy spa area and two large outdoor swimming pools; one heated. Residents will each get a custom-blended French perfume as a house-warming gift, so that they can savor the luxury vineyard lifestyle to the fullest.
