SHKP's Peak One offers boundless greenery 180,000 sq. ft. garden on the peak established with $100m

30/10/08

Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP)'s Peak One, a low-density luxurious residence located atop Tung Lo Wan Shan in Shatin, is gradually revealing many of its exceptional designs that connect closely with its natural ambiance. The developer held a press conference today (October 30) to introduce the lush landscapes and vertical garden of Peak One as well as the healthy, green lifestyle promoted to residents in this private, eco-friendly backyard.

Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Senior Sales and Marketing Manager Allen Woo said, "Peak One is SHKP's key luxury property development of the year and we hope to offer a lifestyle comparable to what detached house on The Peak offers by incorporating top-quality elements in the project. In order to bring to residents the healthiness and relaxation presented by natural surrounds at all times, we have invested HK$100 million to integrate green aesthetics in the project exquisitely, building the Garden on the Peak of as large as 180,000 sq. ft. There are more than 100,000 plants in the garden, including many species that are introduced to Hong Kong for the first time. Its immensity is anticipated to break the record of local luxury properties in similar scale, further heightening Peak One's status as an iconic luxury residence of the new generation."

Woo continued, "We strive to tailor a living space that is of the best standard and reflect discerning tastes at Peak One. This impressive oasis seamlessly merges with its natural surrounds, seeping the fresh ambiance into every unit. The functionality of the landscapes is also enhanced through introducing the advanced vertical greening technology, an innovative form of greening manifesting aesthetics as well as eco-friendly practicality. Horizontally cultivated plants will give birth to 'Sculpture Garden', a vertical garden of 12,000 sq. ft. and spanning 350 ft., which will be the largest of its kind among all Hong Kong residential developments. Diverse collections of vegetation will become the natural, artistic embellishments that beautify the scenery while alleviating the greenhouse effect, reducing noise and filtering pollutants at the same time to give residents a green living environment with fresh air."

SHKP especially appointed the renowned landscape planning and design multinational Belt Collins International (HK) Limited (Belt Collins) to tailor a green plan for Peak One. Belt Collins President and Managing Director Anthony Hui stated, "As Peak One situates in a natural environment that is so extraordinary in the city, we have decided to extend this lush greenery to the property's landscape design, keeping the original green backdrop while embedding other colorful plants to enrich the overall setting. We have exquisitely selected for this project as many as 100 species, of which some are one-of-a-kind in Hong Kong. With such beautiful natural adornments, the property's landscapes blend with its vicinity to offer residents a lifestyle that is closest to the Mother Nature. Furthermore, the exclusive 'Maestro Garden' of 20,000 sq. ft. features foliage that are in season to portray sceneries of different tones and colors during the year, showcasing the delicacy and artistic changes of the four seasons without flaws. With this rich vegetation, residents are able to enjoy a private backyard full of colors that is so rare in this metropolitan."

The spacious Garden on the Peak of 180,000 sq. ft. is filled with more than 100 vegetation species, and in particular its "Maestro Garden" showcases seasonal plants to residents throughout the course of a year. The contemporary "Sculpture Garden" is the largest vertical garden among all residential projects in Hong Kong, instilling green creativity in Peak One. The entire landscape facility fuses with the natural environments to offer breathtaking views with colorful flowers and verdant mountain ranges; reiterating the design concept of Peak One in harmonizing with the natural surroundings through the many planning details and thoughtful considerations that present superior tastes to privileged residents.

About Peak One

Peak One is on top of Tung Lo Wan Shan in Sha Tin. It is being developed in three phases. The first phase has eight towers with 400 units and handover is scheduled for the fourth quarter of next year. The project has a plot ratio of only 0.9, featuring primarily low-density mid-rise blocks for luxury living and a high degree of privacy. The developer has invested $400 million in building a new road that connects directly to Route 8, with Peak One the only residential project on the road. The journey to Central will only take 15 minutes, and 11 minutes to International Commerce Centre in Kowloon or Tsim Sha Tsui. These advantages and more will make Peak One comparable to luxury properties on the Peak.
