Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) supports a wide range of green activities and promotes environmental protection through its property portfolio and in the community under the SHKP G Power platform.  This will be the fifth year for SHKP supporting global Earth Hour, with over 200 developments switching off lights for an hour.  It is also staging the world’s highest Earth Hour Kick-off at the Sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), to encourage people to be eco-friendly.

Lights out at over 200 developments

The 200-plus offices, malls and residential developments managed by SHKP’s Hong Yip and Kai Shing that will switch off lights for an hour this Saturday (23 March) at 8:30 pm include Hong Kong’s tallest building International Commerce Centre, Hong Kong’s first office development to achieve LEED gold certification Kowloon Commerce Centre, Sun Hung Kai Centre, International Finance Centre, APM, Grand Century Place, WTC More and Park Island.

Spreading green message

In addition to the Earth Hour kick-off, there will be a raft of Sky-high Eco-Easter activities for the whole family at the observation deck, including Easter egg workshops, energy saving quizzes, seminars and exhibitions from 25 March to 30 April by Sky100, WWF Hong Kong and other organizations. Admission will be free for children and the elderly , 10% discount for local residents and there will be a Facebook fan page offer to encourage parents and children to learn about the importance of going green for a meaningful Easter.
